I'm Vladimir Haltakov, originally from Sofia, Bulgaria, and based in Munich, Germany. I've been programming and building software products for 20+ years, mostly at the intersection of AI, computer vision, product engineering, and developer tools.

I'm currently building Creafex Lab as a solo founder. AI is deeply integrated into how I work — in the products I build, the way I code, how I think through strategy and marketing, and in the internal assistants I use to move faster.

I studied Computer Science at Sofia University, then moved to Munich in 2009 for the Robotics, Cognition, Intelligence master's program at the Technical University of Munich. That led me deeper into Computer Vision and Machine Learning, and later to a PhD at TUM through the BMW PhD program, focused on semantic segmentation and context-aware machine learning.

I spent about 12 years at BMW, working on camera-based driver assistance systems, parking-space detection, traffic light and traffic sign perception, autonomous driving, and high-precision localization. Some of that work has been in production BMW cars since 2016, and almost all new BMW models since 2018 contain work I contributed to.

After BMW, I joined a startup as VP of Engineering, working across blockchain, enterprise AI, cybersecurity, confidential computing, and encrypted AI/RAG products. Eventually, I decided to focus fully on my own ventures and turn the side-project energy I've always had into my full-time work.
